Richardson Dance Studio, sharing the gift of dance since 1972...

Raylene Richardson established The Dance Studio over 50 years ago and together with Kaiti Blackmore, offer a range of dance styles on many levels.

 

Dance provides a pathway to self discipline and self motivation as we endeavour to improve the skills of children and teenagers with a passion for dance.

As parents, we love that the teachers strive to inspire and make dance fun! We love this studio and the awesome community it has become for our family.

Our Values

Inspiration - We are passionate about inspiring each student to explore, create, collaborate and commit to the process of learning so they can become the best dancers and young people they can. We provide unbeatable inspiration through our weekly classes, our recital, workshops and our talented teachers.

 

Inclusion - We are committed to every student feeling valued, special, important and included as part of our dance family. Students at RDS can be themselves, knowing they are not judged. They are inclusive of everyone and support each other!

 

Community - We thrive on providing a “one big family” or “my second home” experience for RDS dancers. We work together as a team (students, teachers and parents) to ensure each child feels connected and part of our positive, caring dance community!

 

Commitment - At RDS students and teachers are committed to themselves, their peers/classmates and to the studio. We are all dedicated to being the best versions of ourselves and representing the studio with respect, kindness and responsibility.  


Excellence - We are committed to providing the highest quality dance education and customer service, through a team of knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated teachers. Our students also strive for excellence in their dancing but more so, in their ability to be a positive member of our dance community and the wider community.

Richardson Dance Studio’s mission is to instil a great love of dance, while inspiring self-confidence, commitment and respect for the performing arts. RDS is passionate about encouraging all dancers to strive for excellence and enjoy the journey along the way. Our goal is to provide a quality dance education through caring, professional teachers in a friendly, safe, supportive, family-oriented atmosphere with classes that are enjoyable and achievable. Our teaching team together offer a vast array of individual skills, qualifications, experiences and interests. Students benefit enormously from this collective knowledge base. We believe in nurturing all our students in the art of dance by fostering confidence and building community values such as teamwork, dedication, commitment and inclusiveness under the umbrella of high expectations.
